FAIRMONT HOTEL - BEIJING
Compelling hotel imagery that helps create dreams and inspires bookings.
Hotel Photography
Hotel photography can make or break a hotel. Images are the first thing a potential guest sees when they are sitting at home, dreaming of their holiday or planning a business visit. So your images need to be made with care, thought and understanding of the hospitality industry.
Your hotel images will be made with passion, attention-to-detail, and a deep understanding of what sells your rooms.
I have collaborated with many large international hotel chains, helping them create images that sell rooms. I work closely with their marketing team, making sure I understand their hotel’s customers, the hotel’s brand, and what makes their hotel special. The images we make together are designed specifically around that hotel’s needs. How we place the flowers or fruit, whether the lights are off or on, or which bathroom amenities are highlighted are all important considerations when designing your images.

Hotels I have collaborated with.
I was based in Singapore for twenty years, photographing many of the international hotel brands.
I worked closely with Raffles Hotel, photographing every aspect of their hotel, from their chefs to the Singapore Sling. I was the principal photographer for the re-opening of Fairmont’s Peace Hotel in Shanghai and have shot most of the Shangri-la hotels in Asia.
I have photographed hotels in Bhutan, Myanmar, Malaysia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, China, Thailand and Japan.
Now based in Melbourne, I offer my hotel photography services to hotels in my hometown, and across Australia.
HOTEL ROOM PHOTOGRAPHY
Your rooms are the centre of your hotel, so the room images we make have to be perfect, and they have to tell the room’s story.
And there are a lot of stories to tell in a hotel room! You guests want to get a feel for how big the room is. How it is configured, what amenities it has, and whether the room’s ambience will suit their personality and needs. Then there is the view, the linen on the bed, and where the television sits! When I am making hotel room images, all of these stories are carefully considered.
My first consideration is always the bed. It needs to be luxurious and welcoming. But it also needs to be made to the hotel’s standards - which is why I always collaborate closely with housekeeping.
To get the beds as immacute as they can be, I advise housekeeping on how to combine a steamer and strategically placed pins to make it lush, inviting and photographically perfect. Of course your sheets will be cleaned-up at the post-processing stage to remove any residual creases.late as we can get them using a steamer and pins.
